What the site collects
mexicomap.org has no accounts, no sign-in, no comment forms and no advertising. It sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Nothing you do on the site is stored against an identifier that follows you between visits.
The web host keeps standard server logs for each request: the page requested, the time, the HTTP status, the browser user-agent string and a truncated IP address. These logs exist to diagnose errors and to measure traffic in aggregate. They are not sold, shared or joined to any other data set, and they are discarded after 30 days.
Map tiles and other third parties
The pages themselves are plain HTML, CSS and one small JavaScript file, all served from this domain. Leaflet, the mapping library, is self-hosted rather than loaded from a content delivery network, so opening a page contacts no third party.
The map images inside a page are the exception. When you scroll a map into view, your browser requests tile images directly from Esri (server.arcgisonline.com) and, on the physical, rivers and volcanoes maps, from OpenTopoMap. Those requests reach the tile provider with your IP address, your user-agent and the tiles you asked for, which implies the area of the map you are looking at. Both providers publish their own privacy terms. Maps load only when scrolled into view, so a page you do not scroll makes no third-party request at all.

Pages link to other pages on mexicomap.org, listed in full on the site index. Where a page cites a source, the source is named in the text and on the about page rather than linked, so no referrer is passed anywhere.
Children and legal basis
The site is a reference atlas aimed at a general readership and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because no personal data is gathered beyond short-lived server logs, there is no profile to access, correct or delete. If you are in the EU or UK, the legal basis for those logs is legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the revised version replaces this page and the change is described on the about page. Questions about data handling, or a request to have a log entry removed, go to the address published on that page along with the sources used for every state map, city map and region map on the site.
